TLS/SSL Tunnel: Securely Connect to Remote TLS Applications
TLS/SSL Tunnel is an Android application developed by SmallApps.eu. It falls under the category of Social & Communication and provides TLS connections for other terminal programs, such as ConnectBot. With TLS/SSL Tunnel, users can create and open tunnels to connect with remote TLS secured applications. Instead of directly connecting to the remote application, users can connect to a local port through their terminal program.
One of the key advantages of TLS/SSL Tunnel is that it does not require root access. Additionally, it supports CAcert certificates and is specifically designed for services with TLS support on the remote side.
To use self-signed certificates, TLS/SSL Tunnel offers two options. Users can either add the certificate to their standard Android keystore via the device's security settings or import the certificate from within the Tunnel and configure it to use a "Custom Cert Store". The app also requires internet access and the permission to read from external storage to import certificates.
Please note that there have been reports of compatibility issues with Android 8.1 (Oreo).
